We asked recruiter Judson Kinnucan about current trends in hiring. He had good news to tell us as well as advice for job seekers this summer:

“The job market is poised for another expansion. Companies across the country are in the process of hiring both contract and internal recruiters to help them handle the influx of new candidates. Since the beginning of the Great Recession, firms have cut back staff at all levels and the employees that remain have had to pick up the slack.

“But the economy has been slowly improving over the last year and will continue to do so. The largest firms in the country have hundreds of billions of dollars in their coffers just waiting to be spent on new projects, new equipment and hiring new employees. Job seekers should spend this summer updating their resumes, refreshing their social media profiles and reconnecting with old business contacts because I’m forecasting a hiring surge in late 2012 into 2013.”
